Last week, a comment appeared on the World Socialist Web Site describing the phenomenon of “Reality TV.” [“Reality television” and the American reality that produces it] There is another genre of network television drama that is every bit as psychologically and socially toxic. These are broadcast television series that openly serve a right-wing political agenda. I am referring to shows like JAG, which glorifies the military, and to the ubiquitous cop shows that now regularly top the ratings on network television.

The weekly Fox network television series entitled 24 is an extreme example of this genre. Its propaganda value is revealed in story lines that promote racist stereotypes of Arab Americans and other ethnic groups. Even more politically insidious, this year’s season is replete with scenes of torture administered to various suspected terrorists or their associates by US government operatives. 24 offers such stomach-turning scenes every week. These sequences no doubt reflect, first of all, the sadistic imaginations of those producing the program. They are also designed to shock and presumably appeal to the most backward viewers—a politically perverse example of the scenes that characterize a show like Fear Factor. Moreover, this systematic presentation of torture is intended to inure the population and convey the message that this barbaric treatment is somehow acceptable in the “global war on terror.”

A few months before I was born, my Dad met a stranger who was new to our small Tennessee town. From the beginning, Dad was fascinated with this enchanting newcomer and soon invited him to live with our family. The stranger was quickly accepted and was around to welcome me into the world a few months later.

As I grew up, I never questioned his place in my family. In my young mind, he had a special niche. My parents were complementary instructors: Mom taught me the  word of God, and Dad taught me to obey it. But the stranger?

He was our storyteller. He would keep us spellbound for hours on end with adventures, mysteries and comedies. If I wanted to know anything about politics, history or science, he always knew the answers about the past, understood the present and even seemed able to predict  the  future! He took my family to the first major league ball game. He made me laugh, and he made me cry. The stranger never stopped talking, but Dad didn't seem to mind.

Sometimes Mom would get up quietly while the rest of us were shushing each other to listen to what he had to say, and  she would go to her room and read her books.  (I wonder now if she ever prayed for the stranger to leave.)

Dad ruled our household with certain moral convictions, but the stranger never felt obligated to honor them.  Profanity, for example, was not allowed in our home... not from us, our friends or any visitors. Our  long-time visitor, however, got away with four-letter words that burned my ears and made my dad squirm and my mother blush.

My Dad was a teatotaler who didn't permit alcohol in the home, not even for cooking. But the stranger encouraged us to try it on a regular basis. He made cigarettes look cool, cigars manly and pipes distinguished. He talked freely (much too freely!) about sex. His comments were sometimes blatant, sometimes suggestive, and generally embarrassing. I now know that my early concepts about relationships were influenced strongly by the stranger. Time after time, he opposed the values of my parents, yet he was seldom rebuked...  and NEVER asked to leave.

More than fifty years have passed since the stranger moved in with our family. He has blended right in and is not nearly as fascinating as he was at first.

Still, if you were to walk into my parents' den today you would still find him sitting over in his corner, waiting for someone to listen to him talk and watch him draw his pictures.

His name? We just call him TV.

We have all witnessed video footage of the recent Tsunami events.

I was dumbfounded to witness a man standing at the ocean's shore watching one of the waves approaching him. Like a deer in the headlights of an oncoming vehicle he stood their frozen, unable to comprehend his impending doom. Sure enough he was overcome by the wave and disappeared into the water never to be seen again. This reminded me of the millions of christians who wait on their savior to rapture them away from a world they are helping destroy. This man was dragged back into the sea. If christians don't wake up REAL SOON they will be washed away as well.

A new study appearing in the April issue of Pediatrics concludes that children who watch television experience shortened attention spans and considerably enhances the chances, based on number of hours of television watched, of developing ADDs (attention deficit disorders) later on in life. The American Academy of Pediatrics has recommended that children under the age of two not watch television and this new study seems to validate such a recommendation.

Five years ago I would talk about a New World Order, a global government, an international criminal court, a world taxation system, a pan-American union. About half the callers to my radio show didn't believe me and said that I was making it all up. Now we don't get those callers and my show is conservatively a hundred times larger. Along with a massive expansion of affiliates that cover 35 states, I also have one of the biggest Internet listening audiences out there.

Now that the show has grown, you don't hear people calling in and saying 'the UN isn't going to take over' or 'there is no international criminal court' or 'there is no plan to destroy America from within'. I got on the air with the documents year after year along with many other great broadcasters and writers and told people what was going to happen. Now they've seen it happen on the nightly news, albeit with the Globalist spin on it saying it's all a good idea and we should just accept it. People still aren't taking enough action against the agenda because they feel as though they don't have any power. Believe me, you do have power. This global plantation will not succeed unless you forget your responsibility and don't get involved.

One of the most prominent and overriding factors that threatens us is distraction.

I was doing a broadcast in which we had a lot of callers from all over the country. Several of them would call in and bring up issues that we could not prove, issues that are speculative. I don't do that. I know the overall Globalist plan, what they're putting out, what their propaganda is and what their training is for their minions, so I will communicate to you what their long-term strategic goals are. They have said that they're going to use terrorism to convince us to accept this tyranny. It's all out in the open, so all I really do is project what's going to happen in the future from the voluminous data that suggests the future itself is set in stone unless we resist it.

The Globalists have a tactic whereby they will bind with a poison pill and piggyback kooky things with real factual evidence. They have a plethora of overnight nationally syndicated talk show hosts on air all week and every weekend, television and movie scripts, which discuss thing like FEMA taking over and putting us all in camps and tyrannical world government. But then it will be followed with something like 'it's run from the South Pole by aliens' or 'it's run out of Area 51 by demons' - just incredibly ridiculous stuff. Then you have popular authors who will write about how the Federal Reserve is private and run for profit or how there is a Bilderberg group but will then go on to say 'oh, by the way, it's blood-drinking reptoid lizards from the 4th dimension, they run the whole show'. This kind of drivel is promoted and given airtime by the establishment. You can see it on shows like The X-Files - FEMA's in control, there's a secret government, but it's the aliens. So then when I get on the air and read out of UPI about FEMA's plans for mass round-ups, the average person listening has been inoculated against what I'm saying. They automatically say 'oh you mean space aliens, ha ha ha'.

CNN journalist Christiane Amanpour says the US media allowed themselves to be 'intimidated' into following the US official line in Iraq. Veteran journalist Nicholas von Hoffman takes a tougher view... Simply put,' he argues, 'the American mass media put itself at the service of the state'.

On 24 June 1876, elements of the United States Army's 7th Cavalry Division, commanded by George Armstrong Custer, engaged a group of Sioux and Cheyenne braves led by Chief Sitting Bull at Little Big Horn, Montana. The skirmish that ensued resulted in the death of Custer and all of his 250 men --twice the number of fatalities so far sustained by the United States 127 years later in its "war" with Iraq.

Like many a sight seen in the deserts through which the US military's Humvee jeeps drove this winter, the war was mostly mirage, something that evidently escaped the notice of the hundreds of correspondents sent to cover it. What one overheated television reporter compared to the Battle of the Somme was little more than what in Los Angeles they call a drive-by shooting.

It is only a mild exaggeration to say that American service personnel in Iraq were in greater danger from absent-mindedly-driven Coca-Cola trucks than from the opposing army, which had less firepower than that deployed by the police department in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Conquering by bribing people on the other side is an ancient and civilised form of warfare and if it was practised by the United States in Iraq it would explain the absence of anything that can remotely be called a battle. Evidence supporting the great non-conflict hypothesis surfaced in an article by Vago Muradian in the 19 May edition of Defense News, an arms industry publication living on the best of terms with the Pentagon brass.

The article quotes General Tommy Franks, the man who ran the alleged war, as saying, by way of an explanation for the absurdly easy American victory, "I had letters from Iraqi Generals saying,  'I now work for you.'"  Another Pentagon official told the reporter, ". . . we knew how many of these [Iraqi generals] were going to call in sick."

And finally there is this quotation: "What is the effect you want? How much does a cruise missile cost? Between US$1 and $2 million. Well, a bribe is a PGM, a much cheaper precision-guided munition; "it achieves the aim but it's bloodless and there is zero collateral damage."

The news that there was no war because the other side was paid to take a family leave day was picked up by Fred Kaplan, one of the best military journalists about, who published these good tidings on the internet in Slate magazine on 20 May - and there the story died.

As a TV democracy, the U.S. is linked into one televised nation throgh the use of Satellite feeds. These feeds carry the live raw TV image before it has been packed by the networks with music, graphics or commercials. Satellite feeds reveal images of TV personalities in from a live camera with open microphones before they go on-air and again during commercial breaks. Because the feeds are sent out unscrambled and are visible to over 4 million dish owners across America, anyone with a home dish can tune them in. The networks view the nation as one big patch bay on which they can spill feeds of TV personalities being made up, cajoling, primping and whispering. To the networks, these feed out-takes are trash, and to most home dish-owners, boring. To me, the feeds are a window into the construction and performance of character, and the floating TV talk-show called the 1992 U.S. Presidential election.

Colonel Sam Gardiner (USAF, Ret.) has identified 50 false news stories created and leaked by a secretive White House propaganda apparatus.

Bush administration officials are probably having second thoughts about their decision to play hardball with former US Ambassador Joseph Wilson. Joe Wilson is a contender. When you play hardball with Joe, you better be prepared to deal with some serious rebound.

 

After Wilson wrote a critically timed New York Times essay exposing as false George W. Bush's claim that Iraq had purchased uranium from Niger, high officials in the White House contacted several Washington reporters and leaked the news that Wilson's wife was a CIA agent.

 

Wilson isn't waiting for George W. Bush to hand over the perp. In mid-October, the former ambassador began passing copies of an embarrassing internal report to reporters across the US. The-Edge has received copies of this document.

 

The 56-page investigation was assembled by USAF Colonel (Ret.) Sam Gardiner. "Truth from These Podia: Summary of a Study of Strategic Influence, Perception Management, Strategic Information Warfare and Strategic Psychological Operations in Gulf II" identifies more than 50 stories about the Iraq war that were faked by government propaganda artists in a covert campaign to "market" the military invasion of Iraq.

 

Gardiner has credentials. He has taught at the National War College, the Air War College and the Naval Warfare College and was a visiting scholar at the Swedish Defense College.

 

According to Gardiner, "It was not bad intelligence" that lead to the quagmire in Iraq, "It was an orchestrated effort [that] began before the war" that was designed to mislead the public and the world. Gardiner's research lead him to conclude that the US and Britain had conspired at the highest levels to plant "stories of strategic influence" that were known to be false.

 

The Times of London described the $200-million-plus US operation as a "meticulously planned strategy to persuade the public, the Congress, and the allies of the need to confront the threat from Saddam Hussein."

 

The multimillion-dollar propaganda campaign run out of the White House and Defense Department was, in Gardiner's final assessment "irresponsible in parts" and "might have been illegal."

 

"Washington and London did not trust the peoples of their democracies to come to the right decisions," Gardiner explains. Consequently, "Truth became a casualty. When truth is a casualty, democracy receives collateral damage." For the first time in US history, "we allowed strategic psychological operations to become part of public affairs... [W]hat has happened is that information warfare, strategic influence, [and] strategic psychological operations pushed their way into the important process of informing the peoples of our two democracies."

 

Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld announced plans to create an Office of Strategic Influence early in 2002. At the same time British Prime Minister Tony Blair's Strategy Director Alastair Campbell was setting up an identical operation in London.

 

As soon as Pvt. Jessica Lynch was airlifted from her hospital bed, the first call from her "rescue team" went, not to military officials but to Jim Wilkinson, the White House's top propaganda official stationed in Iraq.

White House critics were quick to recognize that "strategic influence" was a euphemism for disinformation. Rumsfeld had proposed establishing the country's first Ministry of Propaganda.

 

The criticism was so severe that the White House backed away from the plan. But on November 18, several months after the furor had died down, Rumsfeld arrogantly announced that he had not been deterred. "If you want to savage this thing, fine: I'll give you the corpse. There's the name. You can have the name, but I'm gonna keep doing every single thing that needs to be done -- and I have."

 

Gardiner's dogged research identified a long list of stories that passed through Rumsfeld's propaganda mill. According to Gardiner, "there were over 50 stories manufactured or at least engineered that distorted the picture of Gulf II for the American and British people." Those stories include:

 

• The link between terrorism, Iraq and 9/11
• Iraqi agents meeting with 9/11 hijacker Mohammed Atta
• Iraq's possession of chemical and biological weapons.
• Iraq's purchase of nuclear materials from Niger.
• Saddam Hussein's development of nuclear weapons.
• Aluminum tubes for nuclear weapons
• The existence of Iraqi drones, WMD cluster bombs and Scud missiles.
• Iraq's threat to target the US with cyber warfare attacks.
• The rescue of Pvt. Jessica Lynch.

He stated in this, and subsequent, emails that he was in possession of “thousands” of pages of in-house memos sent from his corporate headquarters in New York City to the head of the network’s television news department. He went on to say that these memos set forth directives about what material was, and was not, to be aired on the various outlets of the network.

This individual claimed he was developing serious doubts about the strict control of media events and decided that he would pass this material along to someone who might make use of it...".

(October 12) Apparently, SARS is expected to return with the flu season. No vaccine available so any reporting on this is to be very circumspect. The key word here is “pneumonia” and not SARS…

(October 14) We expect an official release about “large shipments” of Iraqi oil in the near future. Ain’t happening men. Our vehicles can’t even get enough gas there and, believe it or not, their fuel has to be imported from the US!…the sad arrival of dead military personnel at Dover is a thing of the past. Strictly forbidden to comment on or attempt to photograph arriving aircraft with the dead…the higher death tolls are redacted for the time being (waiting for after the elections? Hum?)

(March 19) No mention, repeat, no mention, of Palestinian suicide bombers during the Iraqi operation….

Americans are accustomed to sitting in front of "the box" and watching sitcoms or their favorite team vanquish its opponent. Recently it seems to this reader that they have added another sport to their list for viewing: POLITICS. They sit watching the nightly news and CNN's drumbeat to go to war, and they munch away on their high carb addictions and consume their favorite beverage as the agenda for the take over of their country passes by on the screen, clearly spelling out a "real agenda" which carries with it a totalitarian system of government being implemented in their back yard.

How much longer will Americans consider POLITICS a spectator sport? How much longer will they play the part of spectator to the following agenda being played out in their back yards?

I am forwarding this to others in the hope of fostering a better understanding between Christians; Jews and Muslims, as I have done in compiling "The King of kings' Bible" that includes the Tanach Old Testament/ Covenant; the New Testament/Covenant and the Koran all for the first time ever correctly interpreted and in perfect harmony, cross-referenced with each other and with explanatory notes:-

I want you to know me, understand me. I am a softie who weeps easily at maudlin plots in old fashioned clean movies. I have not been in a fight that I can remember in my entire life. I was the stereotypical 98 pound weakling in High School. I am not now and never have been violent or mean. However, as a teen I sought approval from a peer group that led me into a life of hedonism, womanizing, drinking and partying. I continued this debauched existence until in my late 20's when by the grace of God I went to a church and heard a sermon and then and there I prayed for forgiveness for my sins. My life was changed forever. I began to clean up and live a good life.

However as the years passed I became more and more interested in the political issues of our time that the Christian Right commonly supports and opposes. Then I began to notice that the men sitting on the opposite side of the issue were very often Jewish, aka, an ACLU Jew, or Jewish money, Hollywood Jews, gun hating Jews, fag loving Jews, abortion loving Jews, etc.

Rabbi, I grew up in a home where I never, never, ever heard the word "JEW" not one time in my entire upbringing. My dad was a pharmacist, an educated man and a good provider.

No one in my family was anti-semitic in the least and of course neither was I.

Rabbi, I am not a natural born hater. I do not hate now. If you will listen closely you wil see that I am just crying out for help in the only way I know how to do it.

I am crying out to as many people as possible using every avenue I can find such as my local public access TV show, alerting my co-workers, alerting my fellow church members and using my 1600 email address email list on the Internet to expose the wickedness of these leftwing Jews and the damage they are doing to America.

I am trying to let everyone I can know about what the Jews are doing to destroy the lives of millions of young people, harming our young people, destroying them with non-stop SEX, SEX, SEX and Hollywood Movie and Television filth.

All around the world we are subjected to 3 or 4 huge news distributors, and one of them - as you well know - is CNN. Very well, I guess all of you have been seeing (just as I've been) images from this company. In particular, one set of images called my attention: the Palestinians celebrating the bombing, out on the streets, eating some cake and making funny faces for the camera.

Hollywood film-makers have frequently changed plot lines, altered history and amended scripts at the request of the Pentagon, according to recently released military documents. Producers and directors have often agreed to changes in order to gain access to expensive military hardware or to be able to film on military property. On many occasions films have been changed so that the US armed forces are shown in a more heroic fashion. Film companies agree to the changes because doing so saves them millions in production costs. If film-makers do not agree to alterations, assistance is withheld. Among films that have been given approval and help by the Pentagon are Armageddon, Air Force One, The Jackal, Pearl Harbour and Top Gun. Those that have failed the test include Forrest Gump, Mars Attacks!, The Thin Red Line, Apocalypse Now, Sgt Bilko, Platoon and Independence Day.
