The Butterfly Dance

Scripture: Scripture: I Timothy 6:12a
"Fight the good fight for what we believe. Hold tightly to the eternal life
that God has given you" NLT

A man found a cocoon of a butterfly. He decided to watch it for progress.
One day a small opening appeared. He sat and watched the butterfly for
several hours as it struggled to force its body through the little hole.

Then it seemed to stop making any progress. It appeared as if it had gotten
as far as it could, and it could go no further. So to help the butterfly, he
took a pair of scissors and snipped off a bit of the cocoon. The butterfly
then emerged easily. But it had a swollen body and small, shrivelled wings.

The man continued to watch the butterfly because he expected that, at any
moment, the wings would enlarge and expand and away the butterfly would fly.
Neither happened! In fact, the butterfly spent the rest of its life crawling
around with a swollen body and shrivelled wings. It never was able to fly.

The man, in his kindness and haste, did not understand the life and times of
a butterfly. You see the restricting cocoon and the struggle required for
the butterfly to get through the tiny opening were God's way of making the
butterfly strong. The fight to wiggle its way out of the cocoon was
actually forcing fluid from the body of the butterfly into its wings. The
more the butterfly fought the cocoon the stronger he became until he would
finally emerge ready for flight.

Sometimes struggles are exactly what we need in our lives. If God allowed us
to go through our lives without any difficulties, it might cripple us. We
would then not be as strong as what we could have been. We could never fly!

King of kings' Bible - John 16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that
in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of
good cheer; I have overcome the world.
17:1 These words spoke Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said,
Father, the hour is come; glorify Thy Son, that Thy Son also may glorify
Thee:
17:2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give
Eternal Life to as many as Thou hast given him.
17:3 And THIS is Life Eternal, that they might KNOW Thee the ONLY True God,
and Christ the Saviour, whom Thou hast sent.
17:4 I have glorified Thee on the earth: I have finished the work which Thou
gavest me to do.
17:5 And now, O Father, glorify Thou me with Thine Own self with the glory
which I had with Thee BEFORE THE WORLD WAS.

Prayer: Father thank you for the adversity in my life to make me stronger.
In the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen
