Prayer recited in the synagogue at the beginning of the evening service on the Day of Atonement; the name is taken from the opening words. The "Kol Nidre" has had a very eventful history, both in itself and in its influence on the legal status of the Jews. Introduced into the liturgy despite the opposition of rabbinic authorities, repeatedly attacked in the course of time by many halakists, and in the nineteenth century expunged from the prayer-book by many communities of western Europe, it has often been employed by Christians to support their assertion that the oath of a Jew can not be trusted.

Form of Prayer.

Thereupon the cantor chants the Aramaic prayer beginning with the words "Kol Nidre," with its marvelously plaintive and touching melody, and, gradually increasing in volume from pianissimo to fortissimo, repeats three times the following words:

"All vows , obligations, oaths, and anathemas, whether called 'onam,' 'onas,' or by any other name, which we may vow, or swear, or pledge, or whereby we may be bound, from this Day of Atonement until the next (whose happy coming we await), we do repent. May they be deemed absolved, forgiven, annulled, and void, and made of no effect; they shall not bind us nor have power over us. The vows shall not be reckoned vows; the obligations shall not be obligatory; nor the oaths be oaths."

The leader and the congregation then say together: (Num. xv. 26).

PARIS - France is checking whether it can take legal action against a leading far-right politician who has questioned whether the Nazis used gas chambers in the Holocaust, Justice Minister Dominique Perben said on Thursday.

The University of Lyon has urged education officials to suspend Bruno Gollnisch, a professor of Japanese there, for questioning how the gas chambers were used in the wartime slaughter of the Jews and querying the death toll.

Concerning David Irving, I want to say he has made a tremendous historical contribution by exposing a lot of long held WWII deceptions, and that has obviously earned him a lot of enemies. Not the least of which are the radical Jewish community, who have a lot of WWII skeletons in the closet and want them to remain there.

In the future your reporting can go a bit further with Jewish racism, Israeli spying, and Jewish terrorism, such as the JDO. It should get a critical overview by responsible media, such as The Forward newspaper. Or once again, should the public be told what they are allowed to think on these issues, and viciously attacked (with the help of the media) if they disagree.

"Do you think the Jewish Lobby wants their scandals exposed?' Do you think journalists have a duty to do this, like they have in so many other situations? Or should the fear of Jewish Lobby retribution rule the day, which is so well known in the media and academic fields. Their form of beheadings.

My 'questionable website' would not even exist were it not for the censorship of the Lobby skeletons which is acknowledged by just about everybody I talk to, including media people. They are professional journalistic softball players, always holding back, always deferring to authority and their corporate sponsors, and when it comes to (the Jewish State in, but not of) Israel never being direct and candid. This is not only always reflected by the questions they ask, but even more by the questions they do not ask and the very narrow range of persons they invite to be asked any questions at all.

Of course it is these underlying realities that explain why the two parties chose PBS's Jim Lehrer and Gwen Ifil to be the moderators of the first Presidential and the only Vice-Presidential debate, now history.

The most monumental cover-up in media history may be the one I'm about to describe. In my entire experience with American journalism, I have never found anything as extreme, sustained, and omnipresent.

Three and a half years ago, when the current Palestinian uprising began, I started to look into Israel and Palestine. I had never paid much attention to this issue before and so ­ unlike many people ­ I knew I was completely uninformed about it. I had no idea that I was pulling a loose piece of thread that would steadily unravel, until nothing would ever be quite as it had been before.

When I listened to news reports on this issue, I noticed that I was hearing a great deal about Israelis and very little about Palestinians. I decided to go to the Internet to see what would turn up, and discovered international reports about Palestinian children being killed daily, often shot in the head, hundreds being injured, eyes being shot out. 1 And yet little of all this was appearing in NPR reports, the New York Times, or the San Francisco Chronicle.

Even if Saddam’s nuclear weapons program had made more progress than his crude attempt at a restart-the worst case-it was known to be less advanced than those of North Korea and Iran. As for giving expensive nuclear, biological, or chemical weapons to unpredictable terrorist groups: Iraq was less of a state-sponsor of terrorism than Iran or Syria and didn?t sponsor groups that focused their attacks on the United States. After no “weapons of mass destruction” or Iraqi links with al Qaeda were found, the Bush administration’s fallback rationale for war was liberating oppressed peoples and creating democracy that would spread throughout the Middle East. Of course, this social engineering project also could have been attempted in Syria, Iran, or with U.S. Gulf allies, such as Saudi Arabia, albeit probably no more successfully than in Iraq.

 So if the many and shifting stated justifications for the invasion fall apart under scrutiny, the average citizen is left to search for a legitimate secret reason for what has now become a deadly debacle. More evidence exists to support the unspoken theory of securing oil, than other covert motives. Some have alleged the war was a neo-conservative plan to take out a potential enemy of Israel. There may be some truth to this argument. But after making peace with the most menacing Arab nation-Egypt-and purportedly possessing hundreds of nuclear weapons, Israel is now relatively secure from existential threats. Besides, most experts agreed that Iran was closer to being a nuclear threat to Israel than Iraq. Syria was a bigger conventional threat than Saddam’s regime because of its contiguous border with the Jewish state.
