As seen in this revealing photo the Twin Towers' destruction exhibited all the characteristics of destruction by explosions: |

Regarding the pictures we
Regarding the pictures we have seen of the firemen walking around the rubble pile at the twin towers site, with the structural steel column sticking up from the rubble and cut off at 45-50 degree angle, this cut was positively NOT made by normal field cutting techniques for structural steel, such as oxy-acetylene, oxy-propane, or plasma arc. These cutting processes leave a very distinctive signature on the steel, such as a narrow , sharp edged kerf and cutting striations perpendicular to the surface of the steel being cut.
I am a mechanical and welding engineer and an American Welding Society Certified Welding Inspector. In addition, I taught welding at the college level for five years, and I can say without a shadow of a doubt that the cut on the column was not made with any common field cutting technique used to cut structural steel.
Additionally, although I am not an expert in thermite/mate cutting of steel, the cut in question is completely consistent with the few thermite cuts that I have seen.
Diagonal Cut Column
The diagonal-cut column shown by Professor Jones and by other truthers is very obviously an intact core column that surived the collapse of the tower and was cut autogenically by using oxygen from torches during the clean-up phase recovery at ground zero. This is obvious due to the little dribbles of iron-oxide slag that hang off the edges of the cuts. The cut was made diagonal so that this slag would run out and would not pool in the kerf of the cut. We also know just by looking that at the time this column was cut, it was not holding up its share of the massive weight of the building. We know this because if it had been loaded with such weight, a fraction of a second after it was cut, the upper section would have crushed down onto the lower section, causing a polishing affect that would have erased the cutting striations perpendicular to the surface of the steel being cut by the oxygen torch. We can infer that there was a crane attached to and lifting the upper part at the time it was cut off from the lower part with an oxy torch.
