It's becoming ever more disturbing to see people not "seeing" what is coming. People continue to live their lives, as if everything is going to be all right.
Is the war on terrorism going to stop? The "elected" leaders tell us that it isn't. They even tell us that it's going to escalate. Kerry, who people think is a choice, that would somehow, magically, restore everything on the right track, debating the Democrats are O.K., while they have waged more wars while in power, than the Republicans. Note that the Congress recently, in May, passed a resolution which, in effect, authorised a "pre-emptive" attack on Iran. The vote was 376-3.
The congress has been very silent, when it should have been very loud, questioning the direction of the administration, which has invaded a sovereign nation based lies. Lies! How much can they rub into the faces of people, before they wake up? Very much, it seems. The opposition to the rule of tyrants is virtually non-existant.
This war is a war on terrorism alright. But the terrorists are not the ones they would like you to consider terrorists. The real terrorists wear business suits and ties. They look like the Amerikan Dream. They are truly the wolves dressed as sheep.
The weapons in the war on terrorism are not guns. The battles are not fought on battlefields. They are fought in, and about, the minds of the very people. The ammunition is information, both the truth and lies, and non-sense, and the weapons are the mass-media.
You can't fight a war without weapons. Obviously, the odds aren't right. The truth doesn't come out on TV all that much, save mistakes, which are often corrected right away, pulling out all "bad" information, that might raise questions in a concerned mind, questions that would be real bad for the powers that be.
The broad circulation newspapers are not asking the questions they should be. They drop off relevant news and articles, and hardly do investigative journalism. Quite the opposite. A NY Times writer provenly fabricated articles about the war on Iraq. And we are supposed to trust these guys?
One wonders, how come things like that don't make people get concerned? The power of the mass media is far more powerful than one could think. To the people, the mass media equals the world. It is what they see. It is their truth. It makes up their whole picture of the world.
Whenever people would have something to get concerned about, the media pulls up another jack-in-the-box issue, to occupy the people's mind with. Their machine-guns are ready to fire holes into your minds. Their bullets contain far more deadly material than depleted uranium.
The amount of independent news has been growing on the net. It has attracted the officials. We've been taught that the terrorists hate our freedoms. So true. Yet again, to see, who the real terrorists here are, you just have to follow the smoking gun.
The FBI recently seized control of indymedia.org's server. The parties involved have even been given a court order not to discuss information about to anyone. The word out is that the FBI apparently got annoyed that they had published a picture of an undercover agent, who was taking pictures of protesters. How nice to know, that they are building an archive of people, who voice their opinion against the criminal acts by the state. Are they the people that are to be branded as "enemy combatants" against the state? The newest legislation in process is soon to define it illegal to spread news.
The Russian state wants to take down a news site delivering articles about the ongoing massacre of Chechnya, kavkazcenter.com, and has succeeded, for the time being, with the help of Finnish state police, who act as henchmen of the wimpy Finnish government (it was in the news that the Finnish government actually was involved in deciding to pull it). The Finnish state police managed to threaten the company that hosted the server, even though they acknowledged that no law was broken, to take the server down. The site was naturally labeled as a 'terrorist site'.
I just feel I have to mention the glorious China, so that they won't slip away. The cradle of censorship and literally the way of killing protesters. They are hugely growing, and judging from the rhethoric they are using, ever threatening to invade Taiwan, they may soon be on the roll on the global theater. My guess is they are simply waiting for the US to waste both its military and political might in the Middle East, so that there won't be anyone stopping them. If you think the US are bad guys, wait until you see the Chinese.
The most recent legislation in USA is expanding the definitions of "terrorist" and "enemy combatant" to soon cover almost anyone. We are beginning to live in a world, where right is wrong, good is bad, and everything is upside down. You can actually listen to what the leaders say, and they quite rightly speak the truth at times, but they mix everything up-side down. When they talk about terrorists, they actually refer to themselves.
With the upcoming elections between Kerry and Bush, which should be awarded the Oscar for best screenplay ever, I can see the train just speeding up. All the power would be in the hands of the people, if they just used it, but all I see is people just going on about their lives as if everything is just going to get fixed all by itself, still believing in the corrupt system of democracy, and considering the ones who talk different 'nuts'. What a parody.
As long as it doesn't affect oneself, badly, yet, why bother, right? Everybody is so much asleep that I can almost hear the snoring.
If you want a government that works, it's out there, and has been waiting for you for a long time, if you but accepted it.
