Still the best legal dictionary out there

What difference does it make? Attorneys and judges don't pay any attention to laws or words anyway. Just a book to put on the shelf to impress the clients. It lends an aura of authority and magic to the office. The courtroom scene is all a hoax. The judge is just like the ancient shaman. He even wears a robe like they did. And you have your gold fringe maritime law flag on display, so the only law is what comes out of the shaman's mouth. So Black's law dictionary is as good as any.

If you don't believe that courts don't care about words, try this the next time you get a 'traffic ticket'; ask the court, and the policeman, what makes them think your automobile is a 'motor vehicle'? Ask them, since you received a 'traffic ticket', just what goods were you 'trafficing' in? And since the fine is to be paid in so many 'dollars', ask them what a 'dollar' is. Watch them look at you like you are insane. Tell them that you can't understand the nature and cause of the charges unless they explain their semantics.
